كان لقمان خادما ونجارا.
فقال له سيده اذبح لنا هذه الشاة فذبحها.
فقال له سيده: أخرج لنا أفضل قطعتين منها ، فأخرج اللسان والقلب.
وبعد مدة طويلة قال له سيده: اذبح لنا هذه الشاة فذبحها.
فقال له سيده: أخرج أكثر قطعتين خبثا منها , فاخرج اللسان والقلب.
فقال له سيده: لقد أمرتك بإخراج أفضل قطعتين فيها ، فأخرجت القلب واللسان.
أمرتك بإخراج أخبث قطعتين فيها ، فأخرجت القلب واللسان.
فقال له لقمان: لا أطيب من القلب واللسان إذا طابا .
ولا يوجد أخبث من القلب واللسان إذا خبثا

Luqman was a servant and a carpenter.

Luqman said to him: There is nothing sweeter than the heart and the tongue if they are good.
And there is nothing more insidious than the heart and the tongue if they are malignant
